Big Draw 2010

Wollaton Hall

I will be appearing at Wollaton Hall on Saturday 23rd October, 11am to 3pm as part of the Big Draw campaign 2010

I will be demonsrating and running drop-in cartooning workshops during the day between 11am and 3pm. So come along and have a go at drawing a selection of fun cartoons, no previous experience is necessary as i will guide you step by step through the process.

All ages and abilities are very welcome and all materials will be provided on the day. Also i will be available on the day to answer any questions on the art of Cartooning and Illustration.

So make a note in your diary to pay a visit to the tranquil setting of Wollaton Hall on Saturday 23rd October.

Big Draw 2010

Silk Mill Museum - Derby

As part of the Big Draw Campaign 2010 i will be demonstrating and running drop-in cartooning workshops at the Silk Mill Museum, Derby, on Saturday 9th October between 10am and 4pm.

I will be drawing a selection of cartoon animals throughout the day. Also some items/objects provided by Derby Museums will also be drawn on the day.

Specially prepared A4 paper depicting a gilted edge frame will be used on the day, so come along and have-a-go and remember that any drawings that you complete on the day you can take away.

This will be a fun packed and exciting workshop that is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Also, on the day i will be displaying a small selection of cartoons some of which have been commissioned by the UK's major greeting card companies

This event is totally free and all materials will be provided on the day.

Summer Reading Challenge - 2010

I have been invited to demonstrate and run cartooning workshops at a selection of libraries in Derbyshire as part of the Summer Reading Challenge 2010.

The theme this year is Space, so all workshops will have a space theme, drawing Aliens, Spacemen, Spacewomen, Rockets, Spaceships, Planets and much more.

All workshops are free with all materials provided, so come along to your local library to have a fun session this summer drawing all about Space and remember all drawings completed on the day you take away!!

Summertime - Cartooning Workshops

Riverside Festival - Nottingham.

Friday 6th August 2010 sees my return to the very popular Riverside Festival on the Victoria Embankment, Nottingham.

I will be demonstrating and running my ever popular cartooning workshops (drop-in) between 6.30-9.00pm in the Art Zone, so please do come along and have a go. All materials etc are provided and the event is suitable for all ages and abilities.

This is a totally free event, so come along and bring the family to learn how to draw some fantastic cartoons to take away on the day, so arrive early to avoid waiting and queing as this fabulous festival attracts thousands of visitors

This is a superb festival run by Nottingham City Council, so make a note in your diary;

Sport Relief 2010 - Cartooning Workshop

Nottingham City Council are hosting a special event at the Victoria Embankment, Nottingham on Sunday 21st March in aid of sport relief.

Many free activities will be avaiable throughout the day including my Cartooning Wokshop, so bring the family along to participate in this fun packed workshop, suitable for all ages and abilities with all materials provided on the day.

This is a unique opportunity to watch a cartoonist drawing 'live', so come along and learn how to draw some fantastic cartoon animals, many of which have featured in numerous projects that i have been involved with over the years.

Remember, this is a TOTALLY FREE event so make a note in your diary, Sunday 21st March 2010

Cartooning Course

Due to the phenomenal success of my cartooning courses at Breewood and Perton Libraries in May/ October 2009, I am very pleased to say that i have been booked to run a similar course at Codsall Library commencing on the 6th February 2010!!

As with the two previous cartooning courses, this course is structured to run over five consecutive Saturdays, 1pm to 3pm.

The course will be packed with lots of hints and tips plus sample/guidance sheets each week.
It includes character design, inanimate objects, movement and expression, animals and the use of colour.
